“Take care of your mind, and you take care of your life”
This mental and emotional health campaign aims to raise public awareness of how important it is to look after our emotional well-being through self-knowledge, leading to greater well-being and quality of life.
Depression, anxiety and phobias are some of the mental health disorders that need to be taken seriously. Brazil records high numbers of people with psychological problems, which is why it is so important to encourage open discussion and treatment.
Professionals from many different fields are involved in the awareness work.
It is no coincidence that January was chosen as the month to address emotional and mental health. The turn of the year always brings high expectations and, as a result, a lot of anxiety. A new year tends to arrive loaded with goals and plans that may or may not come true. Knowing how to handle these emotions is therefore extremely important.
Even when it is hard, we need to learn to cope with frustration, discouragement, despair and so on. That is why it is a good idea to watch for certain symptoms, such as shortness of breath, a feeling of impending death, dizziness, a racing heart, headaches, extreme fear, sadness lasting several days in a row and nervousness for no apparent reason.
Stay alert! No one is immune to mental health problems. If you notice these or other signs, look for a good professional to help you!
On January 30, FC Joias hosted a talk at its headquarters for all employees, given by Isabella Guido, an occupational therapist from La Purittà.
The theme was "White January Campaign: What Is the Meaning of Your Life?" It invited participants to reflect on the meaning and purpose of their lives, the quality of their relationships and how well they know themselves, their emotions, their thoughts and their behavior, from an integrated, holistic and human perspective.
Today it is very common to see people with a range of unpleasant symptoms, such as emotional imbalance, mood disorders, stress, anxiety and overuse of medication, which lead to many illnesses at many different levels.
The talk offered suggestions and tips for daily practices to give participants options for building and keeping a healthy lifestyle. The main goal of this work is to promote everyone's overall health and well-being and, as a result, a better quality of life.
At the end, many team members shared positive feedback, which reinforces the value of this kind of reflection and action in further improving people's well-being.
A special thank you to all FC Joias employees!
