Brazil celebrates Chemist's Day on June 18, the date on which former president Juscelino Kubitschek signed Law No. 2,800/1956, also known as the "Mother Law of Chemists," which created the Federal and Regional Chemistry Councils and regulated the profession.
To become a chemist, students can choose from several degree programs, such as chemical engineering, food engineering, plastics engineering, industrial chemistry and chemistry (bachelor's degree and/or teaching degree).
