Our Electroplating Process

FC Joias' focus is to offer high quality wholesale electroplating services.

FC Joias' electroplating solutions are the result of a very precise process, starting from a careful selection of the best raw materials. The transformation begins when products are subjected to rigorous operational protocols, followed by intense quality controls.

Process Steps

Learn about each step of our production process:

Step 01 - Photography

When your merchandise arrives at FC Joias, it is organized, photographed by model and archived in our systems. This process is fundamental for our internal control and the security of our clients.

Step 02 - Cataloging

After the photographs, we begin the process of separating pieces by color, layer and models. Important: we do not mix your merchandise with that of other clients.

Step 03 - Cleaning Process

Certain models require special attention. In our laboratory, tests are carried out so that the pieces meet your needs.

The cleaning process removes:

• Dirt and excess solder
• Old varnishes (through stripping)
• Surface oxidations

Imported pieces or those that have already been plated go through a process called stripping, responsible for removing old plating and varnishes.

Step 04 - Identification

At this stage we make markings on the batch identifying your pieces. This control is rigorous and closely managed, ensuring total traceability.

Step 05 - Electroplating

This is the central process where we apply metallic plating. Each sub-step is carefully controlled:

5.1 - Deox Reinforcement for cleaning processes. Super concentrated detergent, administered in exact doses with data provided by our analysis laboratory.

5.2 - Electrolytic Degreaser Penetrates quickly and removes dirt and oxidations from pieces, allowing stain-free deposition.

5.3 - Alkaline Copper Deposits a thin layer of copper, leaving the surface uniform, eliminating small imperfections and hiding micropores, allowing better adhesion.

5.4 - Acid Copper Bath that provides leveling and shine on the surfaces of pieces.

5.5 - Palladium Base Process that presents excellent corrosion resistance. Recommended to replace nickel as it is a hypoallergenic bath. Palladium is deposited as an intermediate layer, ensuring greater safety for your customers.

Up to this point, the process is standard for all electroplating categories: gold, rhodium and silver.

Specific Process for Gold Plating

5.6 - Pre-gold Thin layer of gold with the function of protecting the piece, promoting better final result.

5.7 - Plating Application of the gold layer according to the fineness chosen by the customer. This step is responsible for the resistance and quality of your pieces.

5.8 - Final Color At FC Joias, we have four variations of 22k gold color. The most traditional is Quebec.

5.9 - Diamond Varnish (Optional) Protective varnish with nanotechnology that protects pieces against oxidation. This process is optional and essential for those seeking maximum quality and durability.

Important: There are other varnish options on the market, but be careful - this directly interferes with the quality and resistance of your pieces.

Finishing and Completion

5.10 - Ultrasound Final cleaning that removes residues and impurities from the electroplating process.

5.11 - Drying We offer two drying options, each specific process by color and model:

• Oven: Drying with temperature control according to each type of bath
• Centrifuge: Elimination of water residues contained in internal parts of pieces

5.12 - Cutting and Separation Final finishing on pieces to prepare them for shipment to customers. At this stage we remove the ties and items that hold the pieces on the tank supports.

Step 06 - Quality Control and Shipping

The merchandise is checked individually with rigorous quality criteria.

Optional Services

Some models can receive special treatments:

• Black Rhodium Appliqué: On colored zirconias
• White Rhodium Appliqué: On white zirconias or specific areas

Packaging and Delivery

Pieces are delivered to customers in individual packaging by model, ensuring organization and protection during transport.
